CEO/CoE Partnership: Green Development

Synex Controls Develops Energy Management Products with CAP Award

SynexCenterState CEO and Syracuse Center of Excellence are collaborating to create clean energy jobs in Central New York through a grant program that brings to market the latest energy efficiency innovations.

One of five area companies selected to receive financial support through the Commercialization Assistance Program (CAP) in January, Synex Controls is preparing to release its new product: Spotlightâ„¢.

Spotlight

Spotlight represents the next evolution of a rapidly-growing facility energy management market – the centralization of control for all of a facility's energy systems, including heating, cooling, fresh air, humidification, and lighting. With the addition of Spotlight to its list of offerings, Synex, which launched in 2011, hopes to add between five and ten new jobs to its Pulaski-based workforce.

Spotlight customizes energy recovery from waste heat production to match the needs of the facility in which it is installed. This feature has the potential to make a significant impact on the energy costs and efficiencies of mid-sized commercial/industrial facilities where energy recovery and reuse is rarely captured, and often leads to higher-than-necessary operating costs. Spotlight includes hardware and software to coordinate building control, accessible via a customizable web-based interface.
