CenterState CEO Focus

Dear CenterState CEO Member:

Next month, CenterState CEO will host its 2018 Annual Meeting at the SRC Arena at Onondaga Community College, in Syracuse. This yearly gathering of the region’s business and community leaders features our Business of the Year Awards recognizing members and organizations for their commitment to growth, improving our community and creating tangible impacts on our economy.

Today, it is my pleasure to announce our Business of the Year finalists for their outstanding achievements during the past year. These finalists were selected from the largest and most competitive pool of businesses ever nominated for this honor.

I hope you’ll join us April 19 as we unveil the Business of the Year winners and celebrate all of this year’s finalists. Through this year’s theme of “Pivot,” we will also discuss the need for businesses and communities to have foresight and agility in order to stay competitive in today’s economy.

This year’s event will also feature a keynote address from David Lee, the vice president of Innovation and the Strategic Enterprise Fund at UPS. In his role at UPS, Lee works to accelerate and enable innovation across the company's global network of services and operations by connecting bright people with interesting problems. Lee’s talk at TED@UPS titled, Why the Jobs of the Future Won’t Feel Like Work¬†was curated as one of the most popular TED Talks of 2017. In this presentation, Lee speaks about the need to rethink how we approach work and the importance of designing jobs to unlock our hidden talents and passions and keep us relevant in the age of robotics. To attend, register on our website or contact Lisa Metot at (315) 470-1800 or lmetot@centerstateceo.com.

Sincerely,

Robert M. Simpson
